Community-engaged projects

“In the City” highlights the City Collaborative’s place-based work across Toronto and beyond—where research, teaching, and community partnership come together in real urban contexts. These initiatives engage directly with neighbourhoods, policy processes, and lived experiences to better understand how cities change and who benefits from that change.

From long-term collaborations in Moss Park to research on the impacts of global events like the FIFA World Cup, this work centres community voices, challenges dominant narratives, and explores more equitable pathways for urban development. Together, these projects demonstrate how engaged scholarship can shape more just, inclusive, and responsive cities.
