Work with us
For students
If you are a student interested in community-engaged learning, check out our course offerings here. We provide placements with nonprofit and municipal organizations across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), where you can complete short-term projects over one semester or take on longer-term commitments. We also offer classes led by community leaders and industry experts who bring lived experience and on-the-ground problems into the classroom. Additionally, you can participate in community-based research courses where you will work alongside community partners to co-produce research that addresses the real challenges they face.
For community partners
If you are a community partner interested in collaborating with us, we would love to hear from you. Partnering gives your organization access to student talent, academic expertise, and research support. We can partner in three ways:
You can host urban studies students to complete a project that meets your organization's needs whether it's program evaluation, policy research, communications support, or community mapping. Projects can run for one semester or longer.
You can design a course with us that focuses on an urban social justice issue your organization is addressing.
You can develop and conduct applied research that informs your programs, advocacy, activism, or policy work. We prioritize community-driven questions and share findings in accessible formats.
For faculty
If you are a faculty member working on urban issues with community partners through teaching or research, we invite you to join our collaborative. Connect with colleagues, share resources, and strengthen the impact of your community-engaged work.
